Hey guys what do you recommend for a tool to compress the springs on an LS7 to change them out. I ordered a Crane Cam spring tool from JEGS that said it was for the LS7,LS3, and L92. Although in the instructions in said "Will not work on LS7". Why is this? Will this tool actually work or does someone have another recommendation?

Go to ls1tech.com and do a search for "valve spring removal tool". I can't remember his name but there's a guy who sells one that's pretty inexpensive and I've used it on my LS7 several times now.

The Larry Tool. At least that's what it was called when I bought one 6 years ago. You can make one yourself, it's very simple.
We use a crow bar style tool from Snap On. Makes it super easy in vettes. If you are going back with a single spring again, a simple screw top compressor is easy to use as well. It's not so good on a dual spring though.
I used a tool I got off ebay it's pretty simple although I had to modify it to work on my ls3 allthough it said it was for the ls3 but just had to adjust the hole to make it fit lol. but worked great with a compression tester to put air in the there.

From what I have been told Snap on no longer makes that. I got mine from Tim schroeder. The tool worked great!
