Default Z06 Headers & X Pipe on Base C6

I have heard of this being done, and that Z06 exhaust is completely interchangable with regular C6 exhaust as long as you upgrade al the piping to 3". Anyone have any experience with this? I am looking to upgrade and would like to get the larger diameter pipe that can is setup to handle FI when I get it.

Was looking at kooks 1 7/8 to 3" Kooks catted X-pipe to Corsa Z06 exhaust, if this setup works on a C6.

Your input is appreciated!

works perfectly.. i still have my stock coupe NPP out back.. when LG installed the headers they simply necked down the 3" X pipe to 2.5 " right by the mufflers.. no problem at all.

Default question

I just got my 3" z06 xpipe with cats and the headers are getting coated right now.. All Kooks... I am going to use my stock 06 z51 6speed exhuast.. I planned to just use some reducers and clamp down? Does anyone know if that will work as far as the length goes??

Thanks

You can get 1-7/8" headers with 3" center section all the way back where it necks down to 2-1/2" right before the catback for the regular C6. Why mess with reducers? This is what I did for my 10' GS coupe

Yeah I got the 1 7/8 headers (can't wait to install) You make a good point, almost went that route too, but messing with reducers because eventually I want a 3" axle-back so it's 3" all the way w/o the 2.5" neck down.
