I have a 2005 coupe with the A4 Transmission. The engine and transmission are all stock. Not looking to do any engine work at this time, but, I have noticed the transmission feels a bit sloppy sometimes. It shifts out of first gear very quickly. When running about 25-30mph, it will downshift all the way to first gear if I give it some gas. The downshift is so strong that it normally will start spinning. On the other hand, if I run up the rpms and let off the gas, the transmission seems to do nothing for a second or two while shifting up a gear or two. It almost sounds like it is neutral when it does this. There is no evidence of slippage...just sloppy.
I have read some posts about tuning the transmission to improve the response. Looking for recommendations on where to take it for tuning the transmission. I live in the southeast corner of Virginia...Hampton Roads area. I prefer to take it to a local shop if possible. I am not opposed to some travel to get a great tune.

Hey, I'm over here from the c5 side but I can tell you that Dyno tuned performance in Va, Beach can probably help you out. I think the official name is D.T.P. racing. These guys are good! They did great work on my c5 and I know they kind of specialize on c5 and c6 Vettes!
Good luck from the dark side, Dave
