Default which tuner

I have my first vette. It is a black 2005 convertible with a automatic. I have added a k&n cold air intake and flow master exhaust. I am going to get a 160 degree thermostat next. My question is should I go ahead and get me a tuner? I have seen so many out there, which one is the best. ECS has one that can set the transmission. I just want to make sure I get one that can do it all. Thanks for the help.

ECS +1 but you don't need a tune with any of your mod's. The A6 show some improvement with a trans tune but I would wait until I got mods that needed a tune. Just a question but why are you starting with those mods. You don't need a 160 stat with 0 mods. I'm on the fence about it anyway. Just fuel for thought. You might want to search the forum before you do anything.

He's got the A4 and that will gain much from a tune. He' said he has an 2005. Also,
Welcome to the Forum and Congratulations on owning your first Vette. You made a great choice with the Vert. 2005 if I must say so.

I meant A4 and I said they do show improvement with a tune. From the results I've seen the 2005 A4 tune shows more improvement than anyother stand alone tune usually. I was just saying there isn't a point of installing a 160 tstat with 0 mods. It's my opinion that if he wants to mod his car that he start with LT's since he already has a CAI and then start tuning. Not the gospel just my $.02. I have started all my mod purchases and read tons on the subject and that just seems to be what everyone has told me to do.

I don't want to hijack his thread. I agree with you but the t-stat has to be done eventually with more mods to come. Also, maybe he doesn't want headers. They will cause major drone with those flow-masters. Trust me, I know.

To the OP, choose your mods wisely and do your tune later on like Gunterwalker said and you'll save a bunch of money unless it's gonna be awhile. The tranny tune is fun.
