Trans funny 5th gear
For some reason one day not too long ago my started doing this. Now I can go into 5th from 4th or 3rd no problem, but when I put into 5th take it out and try to put it back in it won't go back in. If I just tap the shifter where fourth is not even go into it, it will go into 5th no problem. Also when I go into 6th and try to go into 5th it wont let me. The car will go into every gear no problem when the car is off or when the car is on with the clutch in.
My only guess is the bushing's on the shifter box and tore up and have moved it slightly where it won't go into in the circumstance's that it won't.Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I hate to be the one with bad news but this is the most likely cause of your 5th gear issue (see below). The synchro key keep tension when shifting between 5th and 6th but when one of them break, usually one of those gears are either hard to go into or won't come out. The only fix? The trans has to be pulled and the synchro key replaced.
