Default Headers install engine check light on

just installed lg headers today. 2 front sensors connected and same with the 2 rear sensors all connected. engine check light came on after driving about an 1/2 hour.

Its possible that the rear sensors are too far back & the exhaust gas is not hot enough...

I's suggest you get the code and see if its for the rear sensors...

Then remove the headers or get some black tape to cover up the light. You don't have much of a choice on the subject. Did you do any research before you got headers? Headers require a tune an 99% of the time throw CEL codes.

99% of folks get the p0420 &/or p0430 code with headers, the cat inefficiency codes.

I have read herein that a few users have been able to avoid the by wrapping their headers but I am dubious.

The easy answer is to find someone with HP tuners, pay the $99 to license your car and turn off the reporting for this codes. Your car will run and no check engine light...but it won't be optimal by a long shot.

The factory tune is not optimized for headers. You will notice a very nice gain from the tune, particularly in the summer.
