Default Excellent Dealer Service

Hey Everyone -- although your mileage certainly may vary, it seems like a good thing to pass along the results of getting my 2006 Vette fixed -- and what they found -- by Al Serra North here in Colorado Springs.

First things first! Mark Klever, the service advisor, really took care of me by keeping me informed of their progress and their efforts. I'd been having intermittant crank-sensor and PCM issues on and off over the course of several months. A crank-sensor was replaced following an intermittant reduced engine power message. A few months later the PCM was replaced for the same thing after we limped into the dealership. Mark wasn't satisfied this was the ultimate issue/cause and asked if he could keep the car a bit longer to troubleshoot more. So, after many phone calls to the factory and much effort on Al Serra's part, they went the extra mile and requested a factory engineer to come help with the troubleshooting efforts. What they found was the (rather large!) wire bundle near the rear of passenger-side cylinder head was intermittently rubbing on the cylinder head corner and causing three pink wires to intermittantly short out. The normal five-volt reference to the affected parts turned to twelve volts which would cause some computer havoc. The techs had also looked at every connector for bent pins, etc.

Hopefully this helps any issues you might be having along the same lines. Oh, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg either.

Again, kudos to the Chevy, Al Serra, Mark, and all the techs for keeping after this.
