So my dad has 2006 Z06 with everything stock other than an A and A supercharger kit. The stock valve springs were floating over 6000 rpm so I replaced to stock springs with comp 921s. I shimmed them to .060", which was measured and verified by LG motorsports. I then reinstalled the rocker arms and torqued them to 22 ft lbs.
The car is now making a lot of valvetrain noise. Is it possible that when I removed the pushrods and constantly turned the engine by hand that the lifters drained their oil, in which case the car needs to run for a couple minutes to pump them back up? Or do you suspect something else? Everything else on the car is stock and the car made no noise 5 minutes before the swap.
