Me Vs. Newer Mustang

There are at times a lot of hot rods that hang out there, and it‘s actually encouraged by local L.E.O.s, rather than public road racing (not good). I was driving by the closed mall and got waved down by a newer mustang. I followed the Mustang to the closed down mall area, where there is about a good half mile strip of open road. There were a lot of ricer cars hanging out. Anyway, the Mustang guy wouldn’t tell me what he had in his car, but we gave it a go from a stop.
Now, even with the Traction monster mod, I still can only give it about half throttle from a dig (I don‘t know if I‘m doing something wrong), until I get to about 30 or mph or so. He did the 1,2,3 honk and we both took off. He beat me out of the hole until I got to about 30 mph when I floored it…….Man it wasn’t even close.
I don’t know what mods he had, if anything, but I left him so far behind by the end of 2nd he didn’t even try anymore. I tried to circle around to talk with him, but he turned around and headed back to the public roads, before I got a chance to talk with him. Man that was fun, and all on a closed course.
I KNOW, I KNOW, I’m far from stock, but the thing about meeting sports cars some place other than a track is….you never know what they have under the hood. He could’ve been a 9 sec car, or stock, you just never know. He must have had something to think he could beat me after hearing my cam. Either that or he was just deaf. My car looks stock, but when you hear it lope, it’s no longer a sleeper.
When he first saw me, I know he heard my cam, but I told him that I was all motor. I know he’s probably telling his buddies “Man he had nitrous, cuz he came on hard at about 3000 rpm”
Nope!!!!!
Before buying this car I really thought that having an A6, so the wife could drive it, would hurt my performance. But with the more hp that I have, Ive noticed a big difference in time made up by never missing any gears. And Ive also noticed a big difference in how fast the A6 has been programmed to shift QUICKLY!! As good as I ever was on a stick, I was never able to shift gears as fast as a properly tuned A6 does. Not that I was ever a professional drag racer or anything, but that’s quite a pleasant surprise!
If yes, those can be VERY fast cars. If not, they're dogs.
The difference between the 2010 model and the 2011 model is about 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 stock vs stock.

There are a couple on Tech that are basic Cai/Tune/Off road X and they trap 117 (IIRC).
My son's 5.0 was nice but no match for a c6 when he got it. He took it to the pony corral for intake, tune and axlebacks and now it is indeed a match for a stock c6.
