I plan in installing a cam in my 2005 Z51 with a LS2 and 6-Speed this spring. After researching around Corvette Forums I’m disappointed to learn that my differential is fairly weak. I plan on running ~460 rwhp and I didn’t budget to buy a new differential this summer. I’ve been looking around through the forums to find a good differential brace since it prolongs the life of the differential. Are there any vendors that have them available? Also am I correct to state that it prolongs the life of the differential and if it does break it saves the transmission?
I found out that East Coast Superchargers has them for $399. Are there any DIY instructions on how to install the differential brace? It sounds like I need to drop the rear cradle to do this which seems daunting.

Thanks for linking RPM!
You do not need to drop the cradle to install the brace, the exhaust will need to be removed to get up there though. It is naturally easier when everything is down, but we most often install them with everything in the car.
Excellent! I talked to Doug at East Coast Superchargers and he recommended their own differential brace but is that the same as the one you're referring to? Do you have a link to the brace on your website?

When I picked up my car from LG Motorsports I asked about adding a brace & was told it would be a waste of money. My 05 produces more than 460 RWHP & has held up just fine without a brace.

I bet it's the same one since that is Doug at ECS that you are talking to here also.
It strengthens the differential and if it does blow it should save your transmission which will save you $$$
I have an older design (not ecs) two bar brace and it did not save my trans mainshaft when my diff case cracked and blew to pieces.
I would buy a four bar brace. If it works it could save you a $2000+ trans rebuild.
I don't know if it can save the mainshaft on a break like this....though my mainshaft wasn't bent much, but enough to replace. Maybe this 4 bar brace could have saved the trans mainshaft?
My friend just stripped his ring gear in his 05 and the case cracked but didn't break...he did not bend his mainshaft. He had no brace. But that is unusual, most of the time they bend.
