I have done a few HPDE with a 2007 c6. I currently have stock exhaust and intake because I like it quiet. I have upgrade the brakes suspension, rotors /pads, installed dewitts radiator with oil cooler and dual fan now looking for a little performance without breaking the bank.
I would thinking the intake and exhaust is the best and cheapest way to pick up some HP. The issue is I don't want a loud car as I don't need any more attention on the street than I already get plus I can't deal with any drone and not crazy about interior noise effecting conversation. I also do a fair amount of highway driving the closest tract is 3 hours away. What's the best way to pick up so hp? I am willing to due a tune after the upgrades.
suggestions?
I'm not sure how big your bank is but, I am surprised no one has talked about the E-Force Supercharger, for that extra quiet HP power your talk about. You put it on and forget about add anything else. My understanding is that you can hardly hear it outside or inside the car and it will take you from your current 400 HP to 550 Hp or more with a three year warr. But it's not as cheap as a FAST intake and/or the exhaust. However, the exhaust will make it louder, Sound nicer and better air flow but it will be louder.
Any experience with a Cold Air Kit? Was just doing some research and It seems a Tune with a Ported Throttle Body and a Ported Stock Intake or FAST intake is about it for quiet options outside of a cam.
Next would be long headers keeping factory mufflers and cats but will I really get any gains???
i think this is a good option. cold air, ported tb, ported stock intake and a tune. maybe some z06 exhaust manifolds and midpipe too.
You can always do Headers with cats and leave the stock Catback... that's what I did. My car makes around 470RWHP+
You don't gain a ton from the catback swap anyway. I haven't seen any before and after dynos that make me believe it is worth giving up a quiet cabin. I also love the sleeper effect. When you nail it it will be loud, but normal driving is very quiet.

If the op is going FI I hope he reads around enough to stay away from that.....
At your power level stock mufflers flow fine. You can leave them on. When I had vararam and headers and stock mufflers I also had cutouts and dynoed cutouts open and closed....no difference in power. When I put in a cam and fast the cutouts only gave me 6 rwhp at 450 rwhp, so the stock mufflers flow fine.
so you have 470 whp with JUST a Headers and cats???
I don't have cats..., but he won't loose much with cats and it will be quieter than mine... I have Cartek 3X cam, UD pulley, headers, ported TB, Fast102, Vararam, EWP etc...
I'd buy those headers they made that kind of power
