Default CANNOT Remove Manifold - Please help

Hi All,
I am removing my stock exhaust manifolds from my 08 C6 MN6 for a LG header install. I am on the last step of removing everything. I got the driver side exhaust manifold out no problem, however the passenger side refuses to come out. Im not seeing how this is so easy as all of the tutorials I have read say, as I have tried what seems to be everything with no luck. Does anybody have any helpful tips or tricks to get this damn thing out? I have no removed the cats from the manifold, as everything I have read says it isnt necessary. Please let me know how to get this out!

If the car is not up high enough you may need to remove the cat. They should just drop right out with enough room, I've done it 3 times without removing the starter.

I dropped mine out from the bottom, cats were still attached. I had to lift the front of the car on ramp then I lifted even higher with a jack, it slide right out with no problems. Basically fell out

i made the starter a bit loser, and raised the car up. The black plastic piece that goes around the starter is what was getting in the way. I had to bend it out of the way (its a pretty durable/tough plastic to bend) before I could slide the manifold out. Either way, finally got it! Now for the install which should be in the next few days!

Finally installed my headers yesterday and wanted to say you needed to loosen the starter most likely. Glad you figured it out!

I didn't have to remove the starter.

I recommend putting the car up higher to have more wiggle-room with the cats attached.

We have done several C6 header installs. On most, we remove one of the starter bolts and loosen the other. If the car is very low, then break the Cat loose from the cast iron manifold.

Make sure you have an O2 socket as the sensors are recessed into the manifold. It also helps to have a racheting wrench for the manifold bolts. It is a little tight to get a rachet with a socket onto several of the bolts.

I removed mine today. Didn't have to remove the starter. Super easy (except for the bolt nearest the firewall on the drivers side). Put the super pros on. I'll finish tomorrow.
