hey there congrats on the car! though in 05 only a coupe was available, z06s were from 06+ and GS are 09+
anyway i have a gtech, i have yet to run it at the drag strip but its been useful to see %gains in hp. for cornering when stock i got upto 1.17Gs. with the supercharge i launched with .8Gs and made the bracket holding the gtech to my windshield break.
my cars now got new tires, coil overs and an aggressive alignment and tune so i hope to increase all my previous records.
if you have an android phone you can download adyno which is free and gives you the same benefits of the gtech + gps mapping and speed
I know people that have pulled 1.1g on the HUD but they weren't bone stock. I found it pretty helpful for learning how hard to push the car in turns. If your tires are in good shape and the road surface is good, turns and sweepers can be done at .8 w/o worrying that your car might break traction and slide into the guy next to you. Just don't stab the throttle. At higher g readings, I like to make sure there is no one next to me in case something unexpected happens.
I have seen a continual 1.3 Gs in certain turns at Watkins Glen on EMTs. You have to take some G readings with a touch of skepticism. I can bump the G reading higher than that by going into a turn and then in the middle of the turn just tweak the steering a little and get a quick jump in G reading. If I am truly at the limit I can't hold that higher reading as the car will start to understeer.

When the car starts to break traction it doesn't happen in a big slide that will take you that far out of line. The front just starts to push a little and you can feel it in the car and through the steering. Just relaxing the steering some and letting off the throttle just a small amount will help the front tires to regain some traction and you can keep right on in your lane. Once you get better at it then you can actually add throttle or pump the throttle to get the backend to yaw around a little more (not drifting) and that will correct the understeer.

Very nicely described Bill
Figure 8's on a large wet parking lot is a good way to get the feel.
