Default Torque Management Software 2008 A6

Anyone know what the latest A6 GM software upgrade might be??
I have a bone stock 2008 A6 with all the mushy shifts and hunting delay after slowing down for a corner ???? vehicle calibration Info says PN 24245876 CVN 0000EC10 is installed. Need to know what to ask for at the dealer if there has been a upgrade.
Thanks everyone for all the shared information and knowledge I do appreciate your helpful service.

You could try going to the dealer and telling him your problems, ask if there is a newer transmission and engine program available.

Not sure if the 5/100 powertrain warranty would cover that.

This is my dilemma, exactly. The "hunting" symptom is really getting to me I've got an appt to drop it off at the dealer I bought it from on Monday, but I'm not very confident they'll be able to duplicate the problem. I've got work, so I cannot ride with the tech, so I'm having second thoughts about even dropping it off.

One thing he said made me think about the warranty: "Are you still in the 3/36 warranty time-frame?" I am, but only for about another month at best.

I'd love to have something concrete to be able to show or tell the dealer about this problem, just so they don't weasel out on me

Default Tune it up

Take a to a reputable shop, not a dealer, and not a mail order, to tune it up. I have an 08 A6 as well. There is a factory software update that needs to be done on the transmission electronic hardware. This can not easily be removed and shipped. The general ECU can also be adjusted to greatly improve the shifting, both up and down, as well as the horsepower. Not that I've done much as far as upgrades on mine, but it was worth every penny. It really changes the personality of the car.

If you are ever in the Southern California area then Charlie at RPM Motors Specialties is the man to see.

Thanks, Mine has 19687 mi on it and doesn't have any of the harsh shifting others have described or the slipping. I will be seeing a local dealer first but realize a "tuner can work wonders without disassembling anything. Need to try GM fix first if ECU needs reflashing.

The updates from the dealer do more or less nothing, we can help you with our mail order tuning via a hand held programmer. You can retain and reinstall your stock file at anytime, along with check and clear codes. The hand held programmer will include the ECM and TCM tune files for $495.

There are several threads in the C6 scan in tune section regarding our mail order A6 tunes.

I was told by local dealer there are several software upgrades available for my vehicle bad news is its out of 3 yr 36k mile warranty period (2008 19k)so it will cost me $99.00.
I have a appointment Mon am will post up how it works out. Dirt cheap Im thinking ,
If you give your dealer the VIN # he can check whats available for yours. Next step is Tuner for me.
Have a great day
