So with all the pros & conS, should you have your fluid flushed and changed or not?

Its a exchange. Not a flush per se. All its is old fliud out,new fliud in by the trans pump in the same flow direction. Do you just change the oil filter and add make up oil ? Or do you drain out the crankcase. Clean fliuds are the lifeblood of any component. Its a real simple, beneficial operation. Some change trans filter every other time or every time.

GLASS SLIPPER! Read this, you know it all engineer. See the link below. POST 1202983 and 1203323. I KNEW I had seen this procedure before years ago. Well apparently it is an accepted procedure! This is copied from the LINK BELOW: "After seeing your pictures, this probably won't be much help. My Turbo 400 overhaul manual says you can drill a hole in the converter, then plug it back up with a closed end pop rivet, or take the return line loose from the cooler and start the engine letting the fluid go into a bucket. They said all it would do was let you change the fluid, it wouldn't clean any sludge or metal shavings out." Well all a EXCHANGE machine does is basically the same as pulling a hose and using a bucket.Just a lot neater and more professional.

Sir,

If it was me, I would just drop the pan, clean it, install new filter, inspect gasket & replace "IF" needed, rebolt pan, add oil as needed. I have done this every 20,000 miles or so on my 07 and as of today it has over 110,000 miles on it, (it had 2 miles on it when I bought it new in 07). Every time I drain it to do the trans service, "above" the oil looked new and was clean. This is just my opinion, when it comes to my car I do not care about the money only the reliability. I have driven from state to state with ZERO worries. Good luck to you and your vet, and make sure to wave!

Nice diagrams there, where can I get that book?
My 2009 Service Manual is in boring black & white, sometimes hard to follow the lines.
