Default Cam change necessities

Changing out the cam on my 07' C6 and noticed alot of posts on swapping out the balancer/pulley. Do most consider this a "must", or just trying to grab some additional HP as a result of the UD? What about just going with a PP balancer and saving the $ from having to purchase new belts? Is the factory balancer really that bad on the LS2?

It's not a big expense to change out parts that most shops recommend when doing a cam install. It will save you money in the long run. Something always breaks. Add the parts while its apart.

Timing chain is highly recomended. and new seals for sure I put a UD pulley on also. new springs are required also and I put harded push rods on also. I went with a double roller timing chain.

yeah, already replacing all the essentials was just trying to grasp the need to change out the pulley. I cant say I've seen any wobble even without this condition it strikes me as just something people are doing while it's that far apart. SLP makes a decent one, any other suggestions?

Mine is my daily driver so I wanted to go with a 10% under drive, I chose the powerbond for price and the fact that it is SFI approved. I think I paid $179 for the Powerbond.
The best is probably the ATI superdamper and they only offer a 10% for our application and cost around $440.
For what its worth, I only had to by the main drive belt as the stock A/C belt fit.

ATI makes a 10%/25% UD too. Around 500 RWHP is the cutoff for when they suggest just sticking with the 10%. Like you, I went with the 10% since I was only raising my idle to 750 rpm for my cam.
