Default Cam/Headers installed, Dyno numbers

2010 C6 Coupe 1lt MN6
Kooks 1 7/8" LT headers w/catted x-pipe
B&B Fusion exhaust
Comp Cam

467 HP
429 TQ

Are these good numbers? I dont know why but I was expecting 475-480. It sure behaves like a totally different car and sounds like a beast. I'm happy with the sound and performance of it. Thinking next I should get a 102 FAST intake and 102 TB.

Impossible to tell without cam specs.

Underdrive pulley? Any aftermarket air intake or at least have the shroud propped open? SAE corrected dyno numbers?

Nice numbers.

What size cam? Can you post the graph? Was it dynoed SAE? Do you have an underdrive pulley(10-25%)?

Why are you gonna get a fast 102 are you just chasing after a dyno number? The stock LS3 intake has been really improved and actually flows quite well. My LS3 1 3/4 LG Super pros full exhaust bolt on has about 420 rwhp and 435 rwtq on a mustang dyno. I would say my number are average to above average to give you an example.

Just the UD pulley would've put you around 475-480; problem solved

The FAST might not show much peak over the LS3 intake, but it will add a good amount under the curve.

You got 45 more hp than I did with the addition of your cam. No cam here.

Only 7 more ft.lbs. of tq though.

LS3 MN6.

TonyD22,

If you're looking for more power get a underdrive pulley, electric waterpump, and possible a fast intake and you should exceed your original expectations.

When I had my fast intake it did not show a substantial increase in the lower rpms, but it wanted to pull more in the upper rpms to take rpms further thats it. I dont think it is justified to purchase a $1000 intake for a few hp.

Dont look at the peak hp. The graph looks healthy to me. Look at that torque curve its flat from 4500 rpms to 5500. Looks good congrads.

Nice cam too

Thanks. I dont really want to only chase dyno numbers but I would like to eventually get to 500 HP at the wheels.

If 500 is the goal then you will need all the mods mentioned.

If you want that 500 rwhp then its gonna take more money. Electric water pump, crank pulley or possibly a bigger cam. I would take that car to the track and see what she does in the 1/4 mile. You might be suprised.

Also inflate your rear tires to like 40 psi thats about 10 hp right there on the dyno.

490-500+rwhp is definitely attainable from a 'cam only' LS3 manual, I know Cartek Racing has done it, and this was long before the FAST 102 for the LS3 heads was even released:

I think those numbers are about average for that cam and those mods. that looks like the Texas Speed 229/236 cam. I think a lot of the 5th gen camaro guys are making about 450-460 with that cam.

Looks good, but with that size cam and current mods, I would be expecting somewhere around +15 RWHP and +15RWTQ SAE. I agree though, if 500 RWHP SAE is your goal, you will need to spend a lot more money with that cam to achieve your goal, such as the FAST 102, NW 102, UD, EWP... The very last HP and TQ numbers are the most expensive ones to achieve, LOL.
