Default LS2 damper

The crank pully was wobbling on my 07' LS2 so I brought it back to the stealership and they replaced the damper but the crank pully is still wobbling (not oscilating but front and back movement less than an 1/8") is this normal? The tec(I use this term loosely) had to borow a puller from another dealer to get the job done, and said that it is rubber on metal and will never be perfect. My buddy has an 06' GTO and his crank pully is dead nuts straight. Did GM do something different in 07'?What do I do? I am planning on using an AnA blower in the near future.

I just installed an ATI Super Damper 25%/10% underdrive, and pinned the crank. Pinning the crank is a must for FI.

it should be running dead true. if you are going to install a blower, you are going to have to go back and pull the balancer and pin the crank. i would suggest getting a aftermarket balancer and a arp crank bolt. good luck

They scammed you a new balancer will not wobble at all
I would try another dealer and ask them what can be done
If doing a Sc you should pin it and ARP bolt for sure

If you are doing a supercharger, go ahead and put an SFI rated pulley on it. I keyed the stock pulley and left it on mine. I threw a belt one day and it turned out that I had spun the outer half of the pulley on the inner half (which couldn't spin because it was pinned) where the rubber is. The outer half moved forward about 1/4" which messed up the alignment on the belts.

I had mine done under warranty by the dealer and it's dead true.
I'd got back, or to another dealer. Good Luck.

Im gonna put a dial ind. on the inside belt rib tomorow and if it is out of GM's loos **** specs ,im gonna freak on the stealer ship that has had this car in the garage twice for this. Who can I call if they keep trying to send me home with a busted car? the Better buisness bureau? Is there a place to call for crap dealers?
ps. the reason I am using this dealer is because I just bought the car from them about a month ago and I dont want to spend the $100 ded. for a pre existing prob.

Ok so I zip tied the dial ind. to the thermostat housing(crappy magnet wont stick to alum?!?) but I dont have a scoket small enough to get inbetween the rack to turm the crank! When I spin the alt. pully the belt just slips! Who sells a short scoket? Maby ill just cut a crappy one down 1/4". Thoughts?
Thanks
Chris

Not true. New harmonic balancers will routinely exhibit some runout. I've installed them and seen it myself. Or go to a dealer, fire up several new C6s and check out the pulleys at idle - some are better than others.

It's common to see a little wobble.

So what happens at 6k? a little runout turns to a thrown belt? It got better after they actually did what they said they would do. but it still moves a little. Ill post a video tomorow.

don't mean to hijack your thread, but i was just about to start a new thread on this, so my ls2 has a vibration at 2k rpms and looking at the crank i can see a wobble. as my car is head and cam should i just go with a ATI damper and what part # is recommended from ATI, as i will be adding a blower this summer thank's.
