I'm looking to get some headers, high flow cats, and an X pipe to go with my Bullets. I have a 05, LS2, 6 speed. I'm not going to be racing, no track, no cams, no internal engine work etc. Just going to add a CAI (Callaway Honker), and maybe a throttle body, better plugs and wires.....
Looking for opinions on either the 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 Kooks or LG set up.... AND WHY????

Get LG street series. You would leave some HP on the table with a pretty much stock car if you went with 1 7/8" headers. Why are you adding plugs and wires? Its a waste of money on your application.
The difference in the 1 7/8 and 1 3/4 power and torque department is so little you would know the difference. Really you 1 3/4 would handle anything you threw at them. Till you start making serious 700+ HP your not losing out on any power. IMO.

Thanks!
It is going to be loud! Non OEM high flow cats are junk, they will burn quickly, causing emissions problems later, sniffer.
That's my goal!!!! I got to have cats though....because the emmissions up here in CT are pretty strict. I really want no cats....but I don't think that's the smartest decision.
What I am saying is the after market high flow cats will wear out quickly causing problems further down the test road. First test ok but later test you better have them heated up real well then it is 50/50. Not talking visual check here but tail pipe emissions levels.
Just so you know concerning the long run. I'd keep the OEM gear too.
I have LG headers and Corsa Cat-back. Bought the B&B Bullets to try them out thinking it would just be a little louder. HOLY CRAP !!!!!! If you have headers on and the Bullets, YOU WILL NOT BE HAPPY! I am dead serious. It's NASCAR loud if not louder. I put them on for 5 minutes, drove down the street at only 15mph and couldn't even think straight it was SUPER LOUD! And I didn't even rev it up at all. Put my Corsa back on immediately and sold the bullets losing about 200 or 300 dollars.
Here's a link to my car revving. Go to 2 mintues and 5 seconds for the good stuff.
Well I have a 2005 six speed with 1 3/4" Kooks headers 3" mid pipes w/x pipe and large Cats on the stock 2 1/2" pipes and mufflers. Also have the K&N intake and a tune with HP Tuners from a local speed shop. Just what the doctor ordered. Its quiet(until I get on it), about 70 extra horses(fly wheel) and I get 3 MPG better gas milage on the highway. Everything else is stock, so far no problems and it even drives better at all speeds.
Ironically, I said I would only do those very same mods when I first got my C6. Today I'm pushing over 500rwhp with a very aggressive tune, extra track wheels, constant tweaking, etc etc etc.
If you are confident you can blow the mod bug off then yeah I'd say go 3/4" but if you have any sortof "addiction" that most of us seem to have go ahead and get the 7/8". Now that I'm fighting for every bit of hp I wish I'd done the 7/8" from the start.
LG 1 3/4 gets my vote. LG's use a longer primary length that will help torque down low.
Not saying Kooks or ARH aren't any good...just apples to apples, the LG's will get you a touch more due to the longer primaries.
But MAN they not cheap. :P
