hello forum, maybe someone can help out with this, i have an 05 mn6 h/c/i/e z51 i started developing a small vibration at 2000 rpms. while the car is out of gear i rev to 2k and i feel it till about 2200 then nothing after that rpm range I'm thinking it's the damper, any suggestions. also best place to get a ati damper if this is the case and yes i have a small wobble in the crank but it seems like it's always been there. thanks joe from jax
thankyou for quick responce sir as i think this is the problem myself! but always get a 2nd opinion from my forum which i was gonna do this with the cam install but, was told by the speed shop in jax fl that the oem damper will be fine 6000 miles ltr it's do for a change go figure..
Well, not with my Corvette but I had a similar issue in my other car. It has a pretty strong traditional 383 and I also had a slight vibration around 2000 rpms. I switched the stock damper for one from ATI and the vibration went away. I'm not saying that's the problem, but IF you find out it is the damper I would recommend an ATI damper in a heartbeat.
yes sir already ordered, will have it installed tomorrow, hopefully will solve my balancing issues, will post when complete!
I was going to see if you wanted my kit. I pinned mine, per ATI's instructions, but next time I wouldn't drill all the way through the crank. The pin seemed a little loose.
I'll do a group buy on them if you can get 10 sold..
I'm interested in that offer, anyone else? I have an early vin 05 with 14k miles which, up to this point has had no issues. I can't help but think there will be so I recently bought a crank pinning kit and am thinking about a underdrive pulley.
