Yes, went with the radical porting on the IM. I know that many here have posted significant improvements with the FAST and if my numbers are lower than expected then I'll give it a shot. I'm not doubting FAST results however, the gains seem to vary greatly from site to site. I've read posts from guys that say don't waste your money, and then I'll read about someone gaining 30hp over a stock IM. Gotta love the web.

Who has ever said that a FAST is a waste of money?

I have to second this...the FAST is an amazing mod. I got only 14/16 on the dyno and all above 4500 but the track results were undeniable. I got a very consistent .3 and 3 mph on the track from the FAST.

There are only two downsides to the FAST. 1. Price. If you don't want to spend the money, a ported stocker is a good second choice with good gains though not as good as a FAST. 2. Sound. It's louder than the stock manifold and not such a pleasant sound, a hollow sound around 1600 rpm.

Yeah, the FAST is much louder. I can hear the valvetrain knocking away at 1600-2500rpm when I ease into the gas. Would probably be a lot worse if my exhaust setup wasn't so loud, lol.

This guy..and the other guy.. and the next guy...

Like I said, just random chatter but not the resounding "consensus agreement".. Hell, I like the thing, just wanted to retain factory aesthetics. Has anyone pulled dyno #'s with the "radical" port work from Peak Speed? I'll post mine after my May 11th dyno date...

You're comparing apples and oranges.

You're comparing a late model LS1 that came with the LS6 intake with the upgrade option being a 78mm fast to an LS2 motor with the LS2 intake (MUCH worse than the LS6 intake on the LS1) upgrading to a 90+mm FAST.

The LS6 was a phenomenal intake in stock form.

Totally different situation.

Default THANKS FloydSummerOf68

FloydSummerOf68:
Thanks for the info!
I plan on getting the FAST 102 ported Intake Manifold, tune + CAI.
I am still shopping around for the best CAI.
My neighbor one block over got water in his engine with the VaraRam. I was just about to make my purchase when this happened to him. I asked if he did anything stupid for this to happen and he said that he was just driving home from work in the rain and must have gone through more of a flooded area than what he felt was too risky and his engine locked up. He has an 05 and bought a rebuilt LS3 motor for it.
I personally think the VaraRam is the best power that is out there.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks.
Gordy

Any open element filter will make good power as long as you're getting ambient air to it.

Get a K&N, Halltech, etc... and prop open the shroud and you'll be set.

There are a LOT of good CAI's out there. Personally I would never put a Vararam on my car due to the poor construction quality.

I agree with the positive comments for the ported FAST intake on the LS2 engine. I got 24/18 with mine.

I happen to have my dyno sheet in my clipboard....I didn't get that much and all above 4500 (I had a ported stocker from Cory Harris which was a good intake) but the track results are not to be denied.

I think it's safe to say that 20-25rwhp will be the norm for someone swapping to a ported FAST from a stock LS2 intake.

It's an awesome mod.
