thanks for posting. I am looking at one of the LG cams/headers for my 2007 A6. Did they suggest getting a stall?

Dads Toy:
No. They didn't suggest a torque convertor. I've had a cammed car before with a torque convertor. That car hauled. I could see how it could help the transmission. But my current car without a convertor, it drives great. I am thinking about getting one but for now. I'll be fine without one.

Add a ported FAST and you'll pick up a TON of power.

My car with stock cam and a 3200 converter (lower #s on the dyno) put down on 11rwhp less than you.

Slap a FAST on and make some serious #'s!

I'm surprised that size cam doesn't want to push through the brakes at stops with the stock converter.

What's the norm for cammed autos? Pre-fast and post fast?

Well pre-cam my auto is putting out right at 400rwhp through a stalled auto with full intake/exhaust ported FAST and underdrive pulley.

Figure normal cam gains after that depending on radical-ness of said cam

With a ported FAST and that cam I would think he'd easily be at the ~440rwhp level.

I dunno...most manuals seem to dyno around the 400rwhp mark or slightly eclipse it without the UD pulley.

I'm also running a catless x-pipe, for what little that may be worth

I've also read conflicting information and don't have any back to back tests to prove or disprove it, but yank claims their smaller, lighter converters will produce more power on the dyno (I don't know if that's locked or unlocked though, but you shouldn't ever dyno an auto with a locked converter, so I can't imagine Yank tested it that way). I'm currently running a Yank 3200.

I picked up 31 rwhp and an equal amount of rwtq with a ported FAST 92 intake. See my signature for the mods. The head need porting, however.

I am in the market for a street cam for my 2010 LS3, it is my DD so I dont want any surging or bucking, any suggestions? Also I know the FAST is great for the LS2 but what about the LS3 with a cam? Thanks.

I just cammed my LS3 and love it. I wanted a mild street car with more power. so my cam is a 225/230 with a 113 LSA.
I dont have any surging or bucking and my new power is fun

Thats good to hear, do you know about how much hp/tq you gained? And did you change any other parts out too while doing the cam? Where did you get it from? And while at a light you dont have to hold the brake any harder to keep it still?

One thing Im wondering is, I have that clicking sound which is kinda driving me nuts (gonna have them look at it). Im wondering if by going to a cam will it go away or just be amplified.

Power is fun, huh?

I haven't Dyno'd the car yet but from parts I am expecting 60 RWHP.

I put the cam, new rods, and new springs. Texas Speed had a special as a package last month.

w/out the new tune my car was surging but the tune fixed that. a higher LSA like a 114 LSA will be even milder for you but a 113 LSA on a LS3 is not bad at all.

Unfortunately the ticking got much louder- Sounds like a sewing machine but at least I know whats in there.

Yea the clicking is bugging me some, have you had anyone look at it? Im just curious as to what part is making the noise.

So when you got the tune you didnt have any more bucking or surging and you dont have to hold the brake harder when stopped? Is there a lobe to the sound?

I have headers and HFCs and a catback and I think Im around 410 rwhp so another 50 or so would be great and still have the wife enjoy being in the car. Thanks.
