I'll lend it to you. PM me your snail mail address and I'll get it out NLT Monday (got a Vette show to go to tomorrow). I'll send it USPS Priority Mail and you should have it mid week. Is that soon enough?
Take good care of it (replacement is $125.00 at Summit) and when you finish just ship it back to me. How does that sound?

Man that would have been perfect but unfortuantely I do have a LS2 head.
I really appreciate your offer but now I won't be able to use it. But thanks for letting me know about where it can be used. I appreciate that.
I'm going to be doing my cam/spring install in a few weeks--I don't suppose I can take you up on this offer as well Motorhead-47, can I? Also, where at in Florida? I'm just outside Tampa.
I used that tool to do my valve clearance checking. It's a great tool. You can buy a hose to connect compressed air via the spark plug hole to keep the valves up super cheap at Summit (they come with both common spark plug threads on them).
Here's a trick my buddy taught me with the tool. Sometimes when you start tightening down the tool, it'll push the valve down instead of breaking loose the retainers from the keepers...you'll know that's happening because it'll start leaking air and you hear it. If that happens, you can take a piece of wood and "pop" the retainer from the keepers by hitting the retainer with a piece of wood to free the retainer from the keepers. It makes a big pop when you do it so don't be scared. I used a 1x4 cut in half to make an 8" long piece of wood and I put the wood on the valve and hit the other end with a hammer.
Good info. I use a rubber hammer for that purpose. One or two quick raps usually coaxes those keepers loose. Also, if you have a manual transmission, be sure you have it in neutral....you can get surprised if your compressed air rolls the motor over and you are in gear but no parking brake!
