Even when closed, I think the NPP exhaust on our 2009 LS3 is slightly louder than the exhaust that came on our 2006 LS2. But the difference is not much.
I was thinking that 75 might be too noisy....but I guess sports cars they are all noisy at highway then..
anyone know the decibel level for z06 after you change the tires? I would like that know that
non runflats are defenitely quieter, I had Michelin PS2's but only for the fist few thousand miles, after that they will make just as much noise as the runflats, but yeah I guess new PS2's are generally quieter, but more unstable at 150+...P.S I think a Z06 will make more noise than the base model no matter what you do, probably because of the wider tires
It is the tires that make the noise. I don't hear the engine. If you really want a whine put on R888's. My stone's are quiter than the goodyears though.
Hi, does anyone know if theres any difference in decibels between the LS2 and LS3 when your cruising @ 70mph? Wich engine is the noisiest?
OK I just took some readings this morning with my Radio shack sound pressure meter. Set in the A weighting.
I have a 2007 Mn Coupe, but I installed NPP mufflers which when closed are a little nosier than stock.
At 70 mph in 6 th gear I got between 72 and 73 db.
I have non run flat Nitto Invos on the car now. Within the next day or so I am changing to Michelin AS-ZP tires and I will take some more readings then.
