I recently just finished my Z06 project and thought i would check with you guys to see if this is normal. When i drive around wihtout getting on it my water temp is about 200 to 210 and it gets there quick from cold start up but doesnt go past that. But say i drive it 5 miles and get on it a little bit its running at 220 to 230 degrees..is that normal? only reason i ask is because the water temp guage doesnt get red until 260 to 270. Any input would be great, thanks
ok cool thanks guys for the input. Say you guys take your vette out for a night on the town and get on it a bit, whats the hottest you get it being normal?

Mine runs about 198-203 on average on the highway or around town, not stopped in traffic. . If I jump on it a couple of times it might see 208. I never see 220-230 unless I am stopped, idling in traffic in summer heat. Your temps sound a little on the high side for what you described. Have you done a coolant flush and replaced with 50/50 distilled/Dex-cool? My car is stock. Not sure what your project was or what changes you have made.
