Depends on the budget and the goals. A tune needs to be done after the mods. Decide how much you want to spend, what you want out of the mods, and these guys can steer you in the right direction.

If money is not a issue go with (tune, vararam)

If you are on a budget [like me] do a (tune, air filter, propped shroud)

I bet you cant even tell the HP difference.

You didn't say if you wanted performance or other mods? If performance I would get headers, CAI (if LS2 but I guess you have LS3???), 160* stat, exhuast if you want more sound and tune. Headers are the base for a modded engine. Cosmetic mods to your taste.

Start with headers. Not only a healthly increase in HP/TQ but a nice bump in exhaust testosterone.
Headers are a building block for future power increasing mods. Most of us started there. A tune should be done at the same time as header install to optimixe power and Air/fuel ratio.

Default emissions testing

My understanding is that long tube headers will fail emissions or visible inspection in many states, so you might want to take that into consideration.

I am just about to go off warranty, and begun thinking about some mods.

The consensus on LS2 appears to be

headers
intake - ideally the actually manifold, not just the "air filter"
tune - engine and transmission if you the 6 speed auto
z51 sway bars - if have F55 (magnetic ride control) or base suspension
michelin pilot sport summer tires, either zero pressures or non-runflats

Beyond the above list, you will probably get lots of different opinions - especially for power mods.

I have also seen a few people suggest doing just a supercharger and tune for power mods, even with stock intake/exhaust. Apparently, this causes less issues with emissions.

I just switched tires, and will probably do z51 sways. After that, i would like to do headers/tune - but want to pass inspection/emissions in New Jersey. I believe shorty headers or z06 manifolds will pass NJ and CA tests.
