Default steering response

I have a 2007 couple with Magnetic Ride Control. Overall, I love the the handling and ride. I just got rid of stock rubber at 30,000 miles and 4.5 years. The car now rides on pilot sport (zero pressure/runflats).

However, i would prefer if steering was quicker/lighter, for lack of a better term. Obviously the mechanical ratio can't be changed. I am not sure if there are adjustments for the steering assist.

Would going to Z51 sways have any impact here?

This is more of an off throttle thing. I find when power is on through the turn, the steering is fine. So, wouldn't want to become twitchy there - just for better cruising responsiveness.

running michelin pilot PS2 would give you some of what you are looking for, but they are non-runflat.

Just for clarity for everyone I'm going to ask an obvious question.....have you set up the alignment appropriately for what you want from the car?

And certainly going to Z51 sways will help cornering a lot.

I am running michelin PS2, but the new zero pressure (runflat) version. I know the non-runflat version arguably offers even better grip. I would think the stiffer sidewall of zero pressure, would offer at least the same turn in. Unless, I am missing something.

I just had the alignment done with new tires. However, I am using the standard settings. Is there a better set-up?

I just had my 08 1LT aligned using the Pfadt Street numbers.

Went from nominal factory recommendation to best tire wear setting and then to the Pfadt settings.

The Pfadt settings are great, the cars handles very predictably now and sticks like glue in the corners with precise steering feel.

Be aware that I am unsure of just what my tire wear will be, I have heard comments ranging across the board.

I also know that keeping the stock tire width up front ( from 3 sizes bigger ) gave me faster steering response.

Not sure if any of this pertains to your situation but it does influence the steering response you speak off.

Check your air pressure too, to low will slow down your steering. Mine are at recommended 30 psi cold.

Local autocross champs 2009 (man and woman) used them both, said the runflat version handled better and just as soft as the non-runflat.
