The only time I've had a CEL on my 09 Z06 is when I installed a Vette-Air scoop and an Attack Blue filter. The resulting air turbulence across the MAF was the culprit.
I removed the Attack Blue filter element and then made a difuser panel for the scoop. Everything is hunky dory now.
Haha.... Now who is flying off the handle? Regardless of the fact that you think I am being argumentative, my sole intent was to make sure neither you nor anyone else mistakes their CEL for nothing just because some are more common. Not to start a fight. Anyway my point is made, your point is taken. It's your thread so I wont interfere. Enjoy.
I bought a Lil handheld scanner from Sears for like 200 bucks...best damn thing I ever bought. Scans, shows the codes, after you repair it you clear the codes and run an emissions check while your at it. I fixed an 02 sensor and ran straight up to the state inspection facility and passed....nome of that driving 50 mile crap.

There are a number of self tests and some require a long cycle while others don't. The one in particular that takes the longest to complete is the evaporator system test. The O2 test normally completes upon warm up. Look at your inspection report to see which ones are complete and not complete. Texas allows only 1 not complete.
