Default Z06 brake pads

I tried to search but didnt really find too much on this.

I'm going to upgrade to the Z51 rotors on my C6 and wanted to know if the C5 or C6 Z06 pads will work with this setup.

Just want something with a better bite and I read these should do the trick.

Thanks in advance.

C6 Z06 definitely won't work, totally different setup. C5 Z06 I'm not sure.

When you say you want more bite, what exactly are you saying, what are you planning to do with the car, auto-x, HPDE's or track?

The brake experts here will need to know that info to make good recommendations for the right kind of C6 pads to use.

Hmmm.....don't know why you couldn't find anything - there have been about a tetrabazillion threads about brake pads.

First of all, the C6 Z06 has completely different brakes from the C5 and base C6. The C6 Z06 has fixed calipers with 6 pistons on each front caliper, and 4 on each rear. The floating calipers on the C5/6 use entirely different pads from the C6 Z06.

Second, you say you're "upgrading" to Z51 rotors. I'm not sure what you want to upgrade your brakes for, but if it's just for bling, then the Z51 rotors might be considered an upgrade. If you're upgrading for the track, then you don't want cross-drilled Z51 rotors.

Third, as far as pads - again, what do you want to do with the car??? If you want some good pads for the street, get some CarboTech Bobcats or Hawk HPS (the Hawks will probably dust and squeal a little more). If you want something for the track, will you be running R-compound tires? If you're running street tires for HPDE's you can get a less aggressive track pad, and if you're on R-compounds you can get pretty aggressive. Track pads won't work on the street, but with street tires you could run Bobcats or HPS for light track duty.

You need to change the pads, what are you doing with the car?
