Hello,
i have a 2005 coupe. With ac delco battery.
I need some advice on putting a battery quick diconnect or a battery tender on the battery. Like most it sets for weeks before i drive it.
Is there computer, other issues with the quick disconnect?
Thanks,
larry

No issues at all.. I kept a battery tender on my 05 for its whole life until I sold it this year. Its probably the best thing you can do for a car/motorcyle thats not a daily driver. I now keep one on my 2011 GS and both motorcyles

The dead battery syndrome was primarily an issue with the 05's and early
06's. By 07 the issues were worked out by GM. I know when I bought my 07 M6 the salesman told me dont forget to put it into reverse when you park or you will have a dead battery the next day. Well I let it sit for weeks at a time and no Bat problems. i really dont think you need to be doing a Battery tender on a 2011 Corvette. Just my humble opinion but definately on a 05 & 06.

Your battery won't die in a few days like some of the 05s but your battery will still drain over time. Just the way it is with modern cars.
I use a disconnect since I don't like to leave a charger plugged in for long periods of time. Especially in a garage I may not enter for weeks at a time over winter.
I use a battery tender connected to the accessory outlet in the center console. That way I notice it right away and have a chance to unplug it rather than dragging it through the garage like I did when I used a quick disconnect and forgot to unplug it. Old age is a bitch!
i used to leave my battery in and connected in my truck for 7+ months at a time when deployed in the military came back turned the key started right up everytime. had to put lil air in tires few times but thats it. a tender is not a bad idea but not completely needed.
