Default I pod connection

My '10 coupe came with the I pod connection attatched and I lost XM2 on my nav radio. Does this disconnect easily? How do I disconnect it so I get my XM2 back? I don't need the I pod conection.

Check for aux connections on this forum and C6 general. The most common way to get an aux connection is to intercept the audio output of the XM radio. A poster called Kawal has a lot of information. The best way to do it is to make the XM radio function when nothing is plugged in and the Ipod or MP3 player function when plugged in. You will have to track down what was done on your car. The XM radio is under the carpet above the left rear wheel well and that would be the first place I would look to try to find what was done. In my case, I cut into the audio wires there as it is easy to get to and than ran a wire to the center console.

Did you have xm originally? You Ned to have the xm module to ge t that xm button on the nav touchscreen. If you didn't have it origintally you might need to get the module. I have the module and am not using it actually. Shoot me a pm if you have any questions

I have the nav radio and xm. The dealer installed the factory I pod cable and they told me they hard wired it in. This doesn't sounf reasonable to me. Why wouldn't they have a plug like on the CTS coupes? I lose the xm2 function because of it.

Heck, just get one of these.

Plug it right into your front aux input. It's a bluetooth receiver that works with MP3, iPod and cell phones with bluetooth.

Most likely the problem is that the XM module connection is loose. I had a similar issue with mine and the XM feature disappeared from the NAV screen. I checked the module in the rear hatch area and sure enough it was loose. You should have the ablility to have both the XM and your Ipod.

I have xm1 but I lost xm2 because of the I pod cable that they hard wired to the radio

If you have a PAL installed you loose XM2. You can have all of your music using your ipod and control it via the radio. Most people are paying money to do what you already have.
