Default Header help please

What headers do you guys recomend me getting? I have a 2007 Z51 manuel. Borla Stinger Exh is the only mod. Pardon my ignorance but explain to me what needs to be done from the headers back to get max performance from the car. Thanks.

Get whatever brand floats your boat. They will all make similar horsepower and sound the same.

If you want max power I would recommend doing a 3" x-pipe with a reducer to fit your stingers.

I would recommend OBX for the price, but honestly it's up to you.

There are tons of good headers out there with the "big brands" being Kooks, American Racing, LG, Stainless Works and B&B. Dynatech and SLP also make longtubes but are more common to the Fbody world than C6s.

Like I said, all headers will make similar power and sound, so I choose to shop on price because I don't care about the brand name.

Check em out and get what you like. None are bad choices and all will make your car scream and pick up 25-30 rwhp after tuning.

Longtubes hooked up to Stingers sound great, but will drone like a son of a gun at 1500-1700 rpms. I have longtubes, offroad 3" x-pipe and stingers, so I know first hand I suggest you checking out the thread I just posted up on a very cheap, easy mod to combat that drone.

$50 Dollar Mod to Reduce Exhaust Drone

Get 1 3/4" primary tubes for no more than you have done to the car.

I have an 07 manual and I put Dynotech LT headers on mine. No regrets.

with floyd if your not trying to go full on racing and looking to gain every single last hp to have a edge on the competition, then its really about what you want to spend.

Try the search button. There are hundreds of posts regarding headers. You can read for days and then make an informed decision. Everyone will recommend a tune after you install headers. Best bang for the buck. Enjoy and welcome to CF.

I have installed the Kooks Headers and they fit great. I would get the 1 7/8" Headers and they include the hardware, O2 sensor extensions and instructions. The last one I dynoed was 25 rwhp untuned and gained another 10 rwhp after tuning.
