I have a 07 Coupe and the cruise control does not work under 25 mph. I bought it used and the car has not been modded at all. Bone stock. I searched the treads for a answer but couldn't find anything. Are all the cars the same? Is there anything we can do to get it to work under 25 mph? Thanks for any help.
It's 15 mph in my employer's lot and they have radar gun security guards that have been writing people up for 17 in a 15. It's overkill but they just spent 1.5 mil on a parking lot redesign because a few people got hit by speeding cars inside the gate. The bad part about the whole thing is after the big change we have now had even more people hit so I'm sure that's not helping matters. Thanks for the info.
Security guards in a employers parking lot writing up what? Just what happens to you for breaking this rule? Put you a brake line lock and some junk tires on the rear. Go across that parking lot at 12 mph. Bet with the tire smoke their radar won't register. Honestly thats the most absurd thing I've heard in a long while. Just what do they do for 2mph over? Make you stand in the corner during recess? Oh and no cruise won't work under 25 mph. It use to also be liminted to 80mph years ago.
APPROXIMATELY 25 mph is the lower limit for the cruise control. 2007 owner's manual, page 162.
With cruise control, you can maintain a speed of
about 25 mph (40 km/h) or more without
keeping your foot on the accelerator. This can
really help on long trips. Cruise control does not
work at speeds below about 25 mph (40 km/h).
Yeah, I know, real men don't read owner's manuals.
I work for this little airplane building company called Boeing and when you are on their property you better pay attention to the rules. 1st write up (CAM=Corrective action memo) is a verbal warning, 2 CAM = 1 day off, 3rd your blackballed. Now do you see why I checked to see if my cruise worked at that speed? With all that being said they are a great company to work for and when you work in a company that has over 160,000 employees there are bound to be some goffy rules you would think common sense should cover but there is always some idiot that will screw it up for everybody. Awhile back when Boeing bought MD they brought their crappy managment team in and gave the CEO job to H Stonespchinter. He got caught screwing his sec. and we all had to have ethics training. Go figure. It all pays the same $$$$. Thanks to all for the info.

I hear you and feel your pain.
My company is much smaller, only 7600 employees, but we recently discontinued use of our contracted security service and hired a squadron of Mall Ninjas. They have been on the prowl looking for anything to complain about. I got a ticket on my car under the wiper telling me to remove my radar detector to not attract thieves.. funny part is, the detector is up under the tinted area and impossible to see unless you're right up on the car at the right angle..
One call to the head of security got that knocked off by telling him 1) if they did their job there would be no worry of theft. and 2) If my car is touched again and I find any damage, they are paying for it, paint repair isn't cheap.
Sometimes, when you have a good job, it's better to go along with the stupid stuff than argue.... I doubt you could ever win the speed limit rule. My job is much easier than many others that don't pay anywhere near what I earn, so I've compromised some from what it was 10 years ago.
I realize there has to be rules. But tickets for 2 mph over and with serious consequence is a bit on the absurd side. My attitude to such shows what era I grew up in. I get bowed up if asked for I.D.
