I am assuming you have a manual trans car. You will need to remove the transmission and have the mainshaft changed to a 06-07 Z06 30 spline shaft. Then the transmission tailhousing will need to be swapped out to a 06-07 base (Non-Z06) tailhousing. The differential will bolt up at that point but you will still need to address the differential cooling system or remove it completly. Feel free to give us a call to go further into those options. 1-800-406-1109

Would it be better to just put the z06 trans in also?

ZO6 trans has taller gears. Just depends on what you want. Personally, if I had the ZO6 trans I would throw it in since it's all apart.

Unless he has a Z51 which his signature says base, then the trans ratios will be the same.

I just finished doing one:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...lmost-10s.html

It started off as just a motor swap but he got a good deal on the diff and trans so I ended up doing that too.

Not trying to hijack this thread but can a 08 base c6 transfer to a c6 zo6 differential? What changes would need to be made?

I assume you're talking about putting a C6 Z06 differential into a 2008. If that's the case then yes in an automatic car and no if it's a manual unless you change some of the transmission internals as mentioned earlier in the thread.

Oddly enough, a Z06 differential will only bolt up to either a Z06 transmission or an A6 but not a regular M6.

I usually deal in automatics so I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure you still have to change the mainshaft in an 08 trans but don't have to change the tailhousing.

I have taken out the 2007 Z06 T56 which has the 2005 case with the hole for the plug for C6 2005. Transmission is in 100% condition. I did put in TR6060. I ´m willing to sell the T56.

08 will have the TR6060 with a 27 splined main output shaft. Change it with the Z06/ZR1 30 splined main shaft and the C6 Z06 diff will be a bolt in.

Mike, a 06-07 T56/Z06 diff set up will be more than enough for your needs.
