LS3 Oil Pump
I have a 2009 Z51 that I had to have the oil pump replaced on just a few months ago. Now, this morning, it appears to have gone again as I have no oil pressure. The car has 15,000 miles on it. What could be the problem with the oil pumps? Is there a problem with the oil pumps in the LS3 engine?

The oil pumps are driven off the front of the crank shaft, so they are pretty fool proof. What can be a problem is the 'O' ring on the pick up tube. They may not seat correctly so it will suck in air.

The LS pumps have a notorious history of the pressure relief valve sticking...check with the dealer as I believe there are several Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) outlining the scope and fixes.
