Twice I have had the mode valve (air-conditioning scroll) in my 2008 C6 Corvette replaced and it has just ripped again. The scroll inside the valve seems to become stressed or something and tears. It than winds around the rollers. My symptoms were the inability to re-direct the air flow through the vents and a clicking sound before failure. Twice this has cost me over $1000.00 dollars to fix, because the dealer has to remove the dash completely.
Does anyone know what may be making this mode valve fail ? This is gonna cost me another grand now. thats 3 grand in 12 months.
Anyone know how to do a diy on this??? I have the parts. Is it plug and play? Or do I have to calibrate the mode valve?
Also I read somewhere on here that the heater core and A?C lines have to come out once the DASH is out to remve the "MODE VALVLE ORANGE CURTAIN DEVICE"
