Left my ZR1 in the garage for 3-4 days while away on a biz trip only to return to a dead battery. At first, lights went on, dimmed, then went away, but just a click at the touch of the start button.
Got it jumped, took it to the dealer, got charged, no bad cells etc and the volt meter is back to where it usually reads 14.6/14.7
Myth or Fact part: Was told to only shut the car off in reverse as if its left in 1st gear, there is a slight drain on the battery that after several days could result in a problem. Must say having owned four six speed Corvettes never have heard of this before. Just curious if you guys have heard the same thing, if its true or fantasy island. Thanks, safe driving.
(battery 5 months old BTW)

The battery shouldn't drain that fast. GM says 3 weeks but 2 weeks is pretty typical, not 3-4 days. The dealer should be doing a drain test when everything is "supposed" to have shut off. Sometimes one of the electronic gizmos just doesn't shut down like it's supposed to. Good luck.
Just as an aside, was at my dealer 2 weeks ago, there was a woman there with her Suburban with the same problem, the dealer diagnosed a 105 mAh drain. They had to keep her truck for awhile and gave her a new one to drive for the day.
