Default N/A engine with charged cooled intake

Has anyone looked at, if its either possible, or worth it, an intercooler setup for a non-turbo'd, SC engine?

Getting cooler air, esp in hot climates is always good, and I can see that with Forced Induction you can blow the air through the cooling system, to mitigate any loss of flow through the system.

So would it be worth it, to have a air to air, or water to air intercooler on a non-FI engine? Has anyone seen this sort of setup and have figures to show it does or doesn't work?

Not to side track your post here...but Methanol injection seems to work quite well. I'm really not sure that there would be any benefit in trying to cool the air any more than it already is with a good CAI.

The Airaid I have seems to do a pretty decent job of separating the engine heat from the intake tract. I looked at all the options regardless of cost; and the Airaid seemed to be the best quality/function.

Now to just come up with a really good Meth inj. system....
