Default Quick question...

Guys,

My front tires are not wearing evenly and are making a lot of noise. While I was doing an oil change, I noticed these indexing washers (whatever it's called) in different positions. Is this what's causing the abnormal wear on my tires?
Thanks fot the help.

Rick

Those are the eccentric cams for adjusting the alignment settings. They will probably never "match" side to side if that's what you are asking. Doesn't mean anything that they don't match. Sounds like you just need to get the alignment checked and probably adjusted by a competent technician and a good shop.

Thank you Rick. I've had a couple of aligments done, but I think it was already too late. The wear is on the outer edge of the driver's side. It's got high/low spots.

Well, what you are describing "could be" cupping due to a tire/wheel balance issue, not alignment. You really should get someone who knows what they're doing look at it. You might have both issues or just one. But get it checked.
