Default 6L80E Transmission Mods?

I just put an E-force blower on my 2011 C6 GS, and I'll soon be chasing more and more HP -- while still keeping a very streetable car.

I know that, at some power point, the 6L80E will fail unless it's upgraded with stronger internals. That aside, my question is what's the difference in a well prepared tranny and the stock one that's just been reprogrammed? I have no recent experience with rebuilt trannys.

Will it feel "better," e.g. more sporty, more like a good DSG transmission, or will it feel about the same but just be stronger?

At this point, I sorta wish I'd have chosen a manual tranny, but I didn't, so I'd like to get as much out of this one as I can.

Your thoughts appreciated!

You might want to consider a higher stall torque converter as well, maybe even something mild like a 2600-2800 stall to wake it up a little bit more.

I don't think a good/proper rebuild will feel much different than stock all by itself, that is going to be more in the programming/tuning (and the converter if you choose to swap it out at the same time) end of it.

I sent my off to rossler and did a new torque converter then the rest is in the programming which I will leave up to Dallas Performance. I think even with the blower you are going to run you might want to have the tranny tuned. I am going to run mine for a bit and see how it holds with around 850+rwhp if not I will build a ZR1 drive traine and convert it.

Thanx. What's the stall speed for the stock converter? Can you describe how a higher stall speed converter feels different? Is it just that it lets the motor rev higher -- hence in higher power range -- before it locks? Is the lockup more or less noticeable than the lower SS of the stock one?
