Default Horn???

The horn on my C6 does not work. The relay clicks when I press horn button, but no sound. I have a bad back and can't get around too well. Where is the horn located, so I can check for any loose wire.

The horns are located in front of the passenger front wheel. It's easiest to pull the wheel off and then pull the front part of the wheel well off to get at them. Not so easy I'm afraid. One of my horns is bad and I'm too lazy to dig into it and replace it myself.

There are other horn tests to do before pulling the horns, perhaps someone will chime in with the procedure. I thought I had read it before but can't seem to find it.

before you go climbing under your vette ( it is located up on the passanger side "bumper" area ) ... did you by any chance drive thru a car wash or expose your vette to a lot of water?

it is common for the horn to fail after beign exposed to a lot of water .. they are not sealed very well -- most of the time if you let them dry out, the horn function will return.

I fixed my horns today. Turns out the high one was bad. I bought a set from Harbor Freight for $10 and they sound like stock.

Here is where the horns are located. With the tire off it's easy to remove the inner fender, just 8 mm bolts an 4 push pins.

Here are the horns on the bracket. It's held to the skid bar by one 13mm bolt.
