Default Swaybar adjustment question

Perhaps one of you track guys can help settle an argument I'm having with my son (who knows everything).
I have a 3 position adjustable swaybar at the rear of my C6 Z06. I'm saying that you can set the adjustment to full stiff on the drivers side, and medium stiff on the other side, (to increase the stiffness by a half increment, and that the car will be equally stiff on both sides. He says that it will bias the cornering - it will corner flatter in 1 direction than the other. Which of us has to buy the other a beer?

You're both wrong, and you are just screwing up the geometry.

One side won't be stiffer than the other because the stiffness is the stiffness.

The stiffness will be inbetween the 2 settings. For instance, if you have it set to 1 on the left and 2 on the right, you will have an overall stiffness of 1.5 total, but since the pivot points aren't the same, it won't act exactly how it should.

Go ahead and try it if you would like....it wouldn't hurt anything.

I agree but ; if the end links are not adjustable, he could be pre -loading the corner weights if the mounting bolts do not "slip in".

The end links slip in just fine so there's no preload. But Bdanyluc may be right about the geometry, - could cause quirky handling? I still think that I'm winning the argument.

Like I said....go ahead and try it and find out. You won't break anything. It's just a bar that twists.

Don't know if it would be really quirky...it wouldn't make the car dart out or anything, just not be as mild mannered in a high speed tight turn like it should in both a left or right turn.
