Default Cats vs no Cats??

As usual, I am contemplating doing some modding, but probably won't because I am to chicken to void my warranty! That said, I heard a really nice setup over the weekend with the only mod being Kooks LT 1 7/8 catless headers on a 2006 Z06. My question is, how much different in sound would cats make? I am running BB Fusion exhaust (purchased new in June 2009) for what its worth. Thanks.

No cats will be louder, makes more power and is cheaper. Also has the potential to have more of an odor, but many cars after proper tuning have no noticeable smell. I've smelled some cars with highflow cats that have more of a gas smell than catless cars. It all depends.

Cats will be slightly quieter, more likely to pass visual inspection and more expensive.

I run no cats and love it.

Definitely have the CEL shut off and retune it.

Without cats you can also run leaded racing fuel and higher quality racing oil (Mobil 1 Racing 0W30).

If I go high flow 1 7/8 headers, will I notice a huge difference with the BB Fusion exhaust over stock headers, as far as sound goes?

Yes, a huge difference after putting headers on.

Will be MUCH louder.

How much of a difference between catted and catless long tubes? Sorry for all of the questions, but I have never modded a car before.

I don't know how to quantify that difference.

It's a only a little louder without cats and makes a little more power.

You can always weld in cats later if you don't like your setup. Any exhaust shop could do it in 45 minutes.
