Default Oil Pressure?

What does your oil pressure usually read in your Vette? Just curious to see what 'standard' is...my new GS seems to read around 60 psi most of the time and right at 80 psi when I first start the car and drive the first mile or so. Is this normal?

That seems high to me.

My 05 is at 30 psi at idle and about 40-45 when driving.

Did you put too much oil in it from an oil change?

No, car is brand new...just 900 miles on it...picked it up from the museum.

Interesting.

Maybe the 2011's run higher???

That seems way too high though. Can you check the oil level and make sure it's not too high.

I will later this week when I get the car back from having the front end covered with Clearshield.

Thanks

Search this forum I think. I recall not too long ago someone asked the same question and it was normal due to the dry sump in the GS making it higher than a normal coupe, etc.

It is a MN6 GS with dry sump. Sounds like it's normal.

My LS2 reads about 32PSI @ idle when cold. Once warm it reads 22PSI.

I was wondering the exact same this. My 2011 MN6 GS with 700 miles reads right around 80psi (right at the top end of the scale) for the first few miles on starting then relaxes back to 50-70 after that. So I guess its normal for both you and me OR we both have problems

Frank

ps-checked oil level and its bang on. Factory oil too. Also no warning messages displayed neither........
