Default Help!!!!

I have an 07 Convertible and everytime I leave it sitting outside at work all day in the heat (on a Texas hot day) when I go to open the vehicle in the evening it won't do anything. I go in through the trunk and the alarm starts going off. The battery is fully charged but I get no power and the dash lights won't work. I have tried putting the fob in the compartment with no luck. I have left it there and in the mornng when it's cooler it will start with no problem. It's been at the dealer for two days, they placed it on the computer but it does not regster any errors.

Has anyone had this issue? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ed

Batteries really hate the heat. I am assuming that it is still the original. The battery can be weak and will still show as good. I would replace it.

PS: My 08 has had a few mornings it would not start after a day of cleaning the interior and I don't have the heat you do.

The battery is about 6 months old. The weard thing is that if it's in the garage, it opens and starts with no issues. The minute I leave it outside all day in the heat, it won't open nor start.

Hmm, that is weard. Still it is possible to get a bad battery. Have they preformed a load test on the battery. And if it is only 6 months old you will pretty much get a free battery as it should have a warranty

That's the weird part, It left me last Friday at work. Saturday morning I went to pick it up and it opened from a distance and started with no problem. I parked it in the garage from Saturday till Tuesday and everyday I would go outside and check it and no problem. Took it to work on Tuesday morning, did not move it all day and around 4 pm went to get in it and it would not open. Opened it through the trunk and it would not do anything. Went back around 9 pm after it had could down some outside and got in it with no problem.

My C6's headlights quit working once the engine warmed up. I traced the problem to the fuse box. A circuit inside the fusebox backplane itself would open once the temperature exceeded a certain point.

I was able to demonstrate the problem in isolation by wiring up an ohmmeter to the fusebox and placing the 'box in a test oven.

A quick look around the Forum revealed several other people who had exactly the same problem.

I don't know why the underlying weakness in the fusebox (which is a big punch-down block, internally) shouldn't affect other circuits as well.
