Default Clutch Noise

My 05 has 53000 miles on it and the clutch is starting to make a noise, much like a Throw Out Bearing on my 01 Stang did. I read horror stories on changing the clutch on these, like 10 hours. Is this true and are there some shortcuts. Local shops want $900 install a new one. And I'm sure it's fine to just resurface the FW, yes?

Thanks.

If it's only when you have A/C on, you may want to check out this thread.

I did not get new flywheel when new clutch went in, but not sure if it was resurfaced or not. Charlie and crew @ RPM know their vettes, fortunate to have had them handle the new clutch while doing transmission rebuild.
And they put in the remote clutch bleeder, included as part of the install, so it is super easy to bleed clutch when needed (only bled it once in the 1.5 years since, but the fluid seems to stay cleaner longer when flushed through this bleeder vs. sucking out/refilling/pumping/repeat... from the reservoir)

Would recommend getting the remote bleeder on the new slave cylinder if you are going to have the clutch disassembled.
