So I just purchased a set of Borla "S-Type" to go on my car because with my Z06 manifolds, these Bullets are just way too droney @ 70-80 cruise. Some tracks even have decibel limits that I'm likely surpassing, and to be honest, I haven't had much time out of the office to go to the track lately anyway.
As much as I hate to admit it, this car is really only seeing street duty now and I should adjust for such before I begin to lose enjoyment in driving this car.
My question is:
Does anyone know for a fact if I'm going to be any quieter than I am now, at least inside the car?
I bought some Dynamat Xtreme, Ensolite, and MLV as a backup, but would like to avoid adding the weight of MLV @ 1lbs/sqft.
If S type is the same as stingers then I don't think you'll be in for a very quiet ride.
My longtubes, offroad X and stingers drone like nobodies business at 70mph, even with sound insulation. I just cruise in 5th at 70mph and use 6th at 65 and above 75.

Crap.
I have cats though. What did you do for insulation?
I used Peel and Seal, which made a noticeable difference, but 70mph is still bad and likely always will be in 6th gear.
Interesting. The roofing product yeah?
Works OK as a CLD layer material, but I've heard of better results when used in conjunction with MLV decoupled by CCF.
Apparently.
I'll try it out and post back my results.
