I have a 2005 C6 Automatic and I am having the weirdest electrical issues. The symptoms seemed to start after the trans was replaced but it could just be a random timing.
Sometimes the car would not start, but when you disconnect the battery and re-connect it starting occurs.
Sometimes while driving the vehicle goes into what I call an electrical lock. (radio will not go louder or lower, air conditioning still blows but without a/c, windows will not roll down, seat will not adjust) When I turn off the car it will not start again, untill I disconnect the battery. Then it all turns back on and functions correctly.
I have replaced the battery this morning and still the issues remains, it's intermitten so it's hard to pinpoint.
If anyone has had anything like this any help would be great.
You need to get a code reader onto it and find out what its reporting. How old is the battery and have you checked the static voltage with the ignition off? Also, the battery cables don't exactly have the best clamp so you might want to see if either is lose. Also, take a look at the battery cable at the starter solenoid.
i'm also having gremlins in my 2005 m6. i loose throttle response when i come to idle and the engine is warm, i have checked and double checked grounds, and power wires from the alternator to the starter solonoid, battery and fuse box. Mine does reset if i shut & restart the engine though. This is driving me crazy as well.
