This maybe stupid but what are they for? i just installed headers on my ls2 and was checking for leaks around the headers gaskets with a hose and i noticed i could hear a little air flow at each hole. is that normal?

Thanks

Without a picture I cannot be certain but it sounds to me like that maybe the location a sensor would be installed ? perhaps ?

If it was leaking exhuast it would have a black residue. I can assure you that its an accessory hole and that only. One of the holes is used for the dipstick and thats all on the corvettes.

ok. maybe I'm just hearing things. when i was putting the hose over the holes it sounds like i hear airflow. it sounded like that on all of them. i think 4 on each side. around the headers i didn't hear anything so i think its all sealed up good!!!

Thanks!

Probably what your hearing is the exhaust flowing through the head since the bolt holes are much closer to the exhaust runners.

I'd agree hearing illision.

Why not install a nice chrome bolt (even round Allen headed w/ round gasket) for appearance?

Just install some Chinese made headers. Those piece of craps will probably line-up nicely with the extra holes.
