Don't buy a new factory unit unless you have to.....you'll pay through the nose for antiquated equipment. I mentioned in your intro post that unless you have some reason for being invested in a factory unit you would be better served by putting in something like a Kenwood or Pioneer unit. The trim kits offered now make them look like factory.
Here's just one example by member c5 Bearsfan who gives great service and pricing:
I'm looking to sell my factory nav in my car and 'downgrade' to the 6 disc changer WITH the aux input. If you have that available are dont mind paying the difference in cash, send me a PM and we can talk.
My '08 has the factory nav system but I elected to use a portable Garmin system. I made a removable bracket to hold it onto the factory nav screen. See the attachments. I modded the factory system so my MP3 player plays through the XM radio.
When I first used the factory nav system, I ran into a problem that nobody mentions - reflections that make the screen hard to read in some situations. I think this would be a problem on any built in system. With the portable system, I can rotate the unit to eliminate the reflections.
That being said, the Kenwood (I think), uses Garmin software and has the Garmin traffic warning system. The OEM factory system has the advantage of displaying turns on the HUD, but is really an inferior system in virtually every other respect. C5 Bearsfan understands all these systems and can sell you a complete system with all the cables, etc.
My installation interferes with the radio but I primarily use the MP3 player, so this is not a major problem
